We purchased this book to supplement Galloping the Globe, and found it mostly inappropriate for a kindergartener. There is a lot of "dark" content, where the missionaries are in danger. Many of the stories are very suspenseful, which is great for older kids but disturbing for a five year old. I would recommend this book for 4th grade and up, but not for the little ones.
Kay D. from Southeastern, PA wrote the following on 10/02/2009:
I read this book to my children ages 6-11 this past summer for our morning devotions and they loved it and would always beg me to read one more chapter. Each chapter is about a different missionary and how God was faithful in their lives. Very well written and enjoyable.
Tammi D. from Vermont wrote the following on 04/06/2007:
School Days with the Millers is an excellent book to use as a Bible study with kids. There are 24 different stories in the book; each highlighting a verse of the Bible. It is excellent for kids who learn best through practical, life application stories. The book has prompted many conversations between my children (ages 7 and 9) and me. The book uses the King James version of the Bible, so I find it helpful to have a Children's version of the Bible handy so that I can read the verse in another version before we begin the story.
I think that the Miller's books are a great value and a great teaching tool for any Christian family.

We first read Missionary Stories with the Millers, and my son enjoyed those so much that I purchased the other books in the set. I highly recommend all of them.
We used Prudence with the Millers as our devotional book this winter. I was pleasantly surprised at the focus on manners as well as health and safety. I appreciate the ties between everyday life and the Bible verses read in each story. I believe these have helped all of us, including me, apply God's word to various everyday situations. The stories appeal to all my children from 8 to 3. Even the 2 year old will sit and listen for a few minutes.
