This is one of the most popular software programs out there for teaching and improving typing skills. Speed is a vital part of successful typing these days and this software is geared toward making students faster typists quickly and have a blast while doing it. There are 44 practice lessons with content to type out that comes from in-depth subjects and a wide range of topics. Mavis Beacon, your electronic teacher, will keep track of your progress, dynamically adjust your lesson plan based on performance, and guide you towards becoming a faster typist. You can customize lesson plans based on age, typing ability, and progress. The Progress Tracker keeps track of speed, accuracy, words per minute, goals, and key proficiency. Each time you use the software, you start where you left off last time and progress from there. There are numerous user settings so you can select your goals, age, keyboard style, language (Spanish is an option), and music preferences.

The lessons are easy to complete, and a keyboard with semi-transparent hands at the bottom types along with you to show you which fingers should strike which keys. Interspersed at appropriate times are quizzes, tests, and breaks for games to help you practice your skills and track your progress. Eight fun arcade games are included on the CD-ROM so you can hone accuracy, speed, and rhythm with entertaining practice games like car racing.

Version 20 includes several upgrades, including 25% more lessons and exercises, 30% more skill-building games, additional music selections, new certificate styles, custom lesson designer, the ability to import your own text from Word 2007, adjustable font size, and practice sessions in English, Spanish and French.
