These history-based unit studies cover both U.S. and world history. They provide a chronological framework of important people and events through history. Besides political history, the guides discuss science and medicine, art and music, and church history. Three books of at least 29 units apiece comprise the series: 1400’s to 1700’s; 1800’s; and 1900’s. Each one contains a scope and sequence listing, unit topics, and related topics to be studied in each unit, including relevant Bible passages and field trip suggestions. Units begin with a 1-2 page synopsis on the subject. Important dates are listed. Several books are suggested for each unit, some showing appropriate grade ranges. Ideas for related study are proposed, as are a few projects to enhance the study. Three or four discussion questions round out the unit. These books are not intended to provide extensive information on each subject, but rather a skeleton on which to build a study of the age.
