Chocking Hazard Warning

If the workings of elections and politics are a somewhat “fuzzy” area to you and yours, playing this game may help you to better understand the process. You (and up to three other players) hit the campaign trail as candidates for the Presidency. Amass delegate votes, win your party’s endorsement, then set out to win state electoral votes. When you win enough electoral votes, race on to Washington, D.D. to become President. Multi-level game allows younger players to compete effectively with older siblings.

This board game consists of two rounds of play... the first is based on presidential trivia while the players move around the edge of the board and collect votes at the "convention." All of the trivia cards have four different questions of varying difficulty so you can choose which one to ask each child. There are some very difficult questions for any adults that may want to play along. (I also bought a $3. 25 presidential sticker book which did a great job of preparing my youngest daughter for this trivia section.) The second round of play moves the players into the center of the board to collect electoral votes based on all kinds of American trivia. There is a wealth of information on these trivia cards and with four levels of difficulty there is plenty of new information to keep the kiddies learning for many years to come. We found the game to be very educational and interesting! I highly recommend it.

I took this game to our large family Christmas gathering and it was a big hit. Because it offers four levels of questions, everyone was able to play together and do just as well — from my history buff adult brother down to younger players. Although it’s really for older kids through adults, my 5-year-old was even able to join in by being on a team with her aunt. As long as the answer was Abraham Lincoln or George Washington, she usually knew the answer! On some of the harder levels even we adults learned some interesting new facts. It’s nice to have a fun game that many ages can play together, yet that is not a mindless game. Fun!
