Got this awhile back and we all still love the stories! My kids learned to read with this book along with Alpha-Phonics. Favorite stories are: The Stinky Cheese Man (Hilarious), Petunia(even more hilarious, and a favorite), Amelia Bedelia, The Sneeches. All of these will get the kids laughing for awhile, as well as adults. They're all entertaining stories. Love it!

I have an earlier edition of this book. Peak With Books is, in many ways, similar to Five in a Row. Many of the same great books are used. I used Peak with Books both with my own children and in a small preschool cooperative. I think Peak With Books is easier to adapt to a small group format than Five in a Row, but that definitely doesn't preclude it from homeschool use. I loved all of the great ideas for drawing out the themes of a book and turning it into a week long study. There are also great recommendations for others books to read on the same topic included in the book. Check out the 20th Century Children's Book Treasury (#004221) as many of the titles used in Peak are in that book.
