Learning the countries and states in different land areas is no easy task! I give a big thank you to the people at Out of the Box for making this task a little easier. In these fun, yet educational board games, you spend 10 days touring the area by plane, car, and on foot. You chart your course from start to finish, using only the resources available to you. The first traveler to make connections for the 10-day journey wins the game. Cards are color coded to the game board for easy finding and matching. Learning geography has never been so much fun! 2-4 players.

We LOVE the 10 Days games! Others have explained the games well, so I won't comment on that. After playing 10 Days in Asia for the first time this weekend, I wanted to comment on the difficulty level of these games. In our opinion, 10 Days in Africa is the easiest to play. The connections between countries are very straightforward--airplanes between same-colored countries, walking between adjacent countries and driving through a shared adjacent country. 10 Days in the USA adds an additional element of difficulty in that the rules are a little different for flying to/from AK and HI. 10 Days in Asia was a big step up. We'll get it with practice and we'll enjoy it, but with young children, I wouldn't start with this game. In this one, you have travel by train along one of 4 different routes, two routes for ship travel (and you must have the correct ship card), air travel or walking. Also the number of islands makes it a little confusing to tell which countries are adjacent. Overall, these are great games for age 6 (if reading well) and up for teaching geography. We'll be getting the Europe version next!

After reading great reviews about this game, I finally purchased it. What a GREAT investment! The rules of the game are simple and easy for all ages (can easily adapt what is expected of a younger child). Even the tiles are color coded with the board, so little ones can find some aspect to play and help along! The pieces are sturdy - I just wish the trays were a heavier plastic so they would stay put. The board itself is well constructed, but you don't use it for anything more than pointing to it on occasion (being careful not to give away your travel plans). The game is worth the purchase and enhances the school day on multiple levels - and it is FUN!!!!

My daughter and I love the Africa version of this game. It is easy to learn, fast to play, and delightfully educational. I recently printed up a blank outline map of Africa from the internet and had my daughter try to fill in the blanks. She had not studied African geography other than simply playing this game several times a week for a few months. She was able to name almost all of the countries in Africa! I am sure if she had been given a list of the countries, she could have labeled all of them. I look forward to joining her in learning all the countries in Europe and Asia as well as all the states in the USA... we just have to get the other games and it will be easy.

After playing 10 Days in the USA game, we decided to buy all of the "10 Days" games. It is by far one of our favorites, and great because it is for 2-4 players. My 7, 10, and 12 year old all love to play it, not to mention myself! My children have all gotten very familiar with their geography, and even my 2 year old loves to watch us play and point out the states he has learned. It's easy to learn, not as easy to win. My children taught my sister to play, and now she wants to own all of the 10 Days games for her growing family.

My children love this game. My daughter quickly learned the various countries and my son followed suit soon after (he's four). The game is easy to learn and the instructions are thorough and uncomplicated. The game and pieces are high quality. It is an easy, fun way to learn geography while using logic and problem solving skills to try to win the game. My children and I look forward to purchasing the other 10 Days in... games.

If you are a homeschooling parent on a budget, unsure of whether this game is a legitimate teaching tool and worth the investment--the answer is YES! I spend (too much) time debating over purchases, and often things like this stay on my "wish list". I purchased "10 Days in Europe" this fall and we love it. My children are 11, 12 and 15 (2 girls and a boy, respectively), with vastly different learning preferences, and they all 3 really like this game. Even my husband enjoys it! We have played with all 5 of us, it only means one player will not have a nifty stand to put his country tiles on. It is very easy to play, and does not tie up an entire afternoon. As for educational value, I cannot sing its praises enough. With no effort or drill, you automatically recognize the names of European countries and have an idea of their location. I would recommend this over any dry memorization techniques. While playing,you have to really look at the map to arrange your tiles and in so doing, you learn without effort. It is worth it as an educational tool to take this off the "wish list" and add to the "shopping cart"! I am very glad that I did!
