All > History/Geography/Social Studies > EARLY AMERICAN COLONIES / PILGRIMS > Early American Colonies / Pilgrims Informational / Textual Resources > Life in the American Colonies

A trip to Plymouth Plantation or Colonial Williamsburg wrapped up in a series of books. Each focused on a particular aspect of colonial life, the story of America's beginning is told with easy-to-read text and highlighted with full-color maps and realistic illustrations. Unusual words are defined and original sources are often quoted (set apart in engaging graphics). The secular perspective is balanced with an eye to various points of view Native Americans as well as the colonists. This series is designed as a reading supplement, but it could be used as the textual portion of a history co-op or as the "spine" for a unit study. Each book concludes with a glossary, suggestions for additional reading, and internet sites for more information. 32 pgs (each), pb ~ Janice
