Civics Q & A Series

All > History/Geography/Social Studies > GOVERNMENT / CIVICS > Government & Civics Informational / Textual Resources > Civics Q & A Series
It's never too early to start teaching your kids about civics. These colorful books use a question and answer format to introduce elementary students to basic civics topics. Each two-page spread poses a question related to the main topic. For example, How Do Laws Get Passed? asks, "What Are Laws?" "Who Makes Local and State Laws?" "Who Makes Federal Laws?" "What Is a Bill?" and others. Each question is answered with a paragraph or two of clear, age-appropriate text. Vocabulary words appear in bold and are keyed to a glossary in the back. Colorful captioned photos of U.S. leaders, landmarks, candidates, and everyday citizens help kids connect the civics concepts to the real world. The back of each book has a one-page Q & A section with short answers to several more specific, related questions (ie. "How many bills are introduced in Congress each year?"). Glossary and index included. 24 pgs, pb. ~ Lisa
