Love it!
Orton-Gillingham based. SO easy to implement. I have 2 other OG curriculums but they were too difficult to teach. I can't rate this high enough. 100% recommend.

Good Starting Point
Good place to start learning basic sounds and rules for spelling. The mastery concept is very important, as kids master the basics they are ready to move on to new concepts

<p>My son and I love to use All About Spelling He already had a pretty good background in phonics before we started this and he loves this program So far it's the only ed program that we've used and liked This program is extremely easy to use just pick up and go We've been doing a lesson a day and supplementing spelling words with McGuffey's Eclectic Speller (I've been going by the letter sound and it does take a smidge of work to find the proper words but it's worth it) I think the lessons are gentle but effective Overall I believe the program is an excellent one I'm so impressed with All About Spelling I'm going to save it for my girl (love that it can be used over and over without having to purchase anything extra!) and I'm using All About Reading's pre-reading level with my girl</p>

Using with struggling 5th grader
I had not given this program much thought until many people recommend it for my struggling 5th grader. We are starting at the beginning as suggested. He is not always excited to be doing it, but I can see a difference in his spelling already as he is still having spelling words from dictation exercises. I did not even consider all the sounds some letters make until now. I know I will use this program with my younger son too when it is time to start spelling/ reading.

Why is there no information on whether this is PDF or printed or both?
A shopper on Jun 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The teacher's manual is a soft cover book. The student packet consists of various papers and cards, mostly on card stock. The cards are still all attached on perforated paper and you will need to separate them and organize them. On the All About Learning Press website, there is a place to print extra copies of the student progress chart and achievement certificate. Click on the student packet for whichever level you want and scroll down. You should see it. Nothing in this set is a PDF.
Do the tiles match the All About Reading tiles?
A shopper on Aug 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the tiles do match the All About Reading tiles, but if you have an older version of the Spelling program (level 2 and up), then 3 of the syllable tiles have been renamed and reillustrated--the CLE is now called "pickle", the VCE is now renamed "name game" and has a new picture with it, and the r-controlled syllable tag is now called "bossy r" and has new graphics. Same concepts.
What do I need to purchase to get started with All About Spelling?
A shopper on May 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The Level 1 Materials include a Teacher Book and a Student Kit (i.e. cards). In addition to these Level 1 Materials, you will need either the Basic or the Deluxe Interactive kit. These supply the letter tiles and magnets as well as the dividers for the cards. The Deluxe kit also provides a tote bag and storage box (i.e. review box) for the cards. For subsequent AAS levels, all you will need to purchase is the Materials set for the level.
