The review sheets and tests are correlated with Life of Christ Curriculum/Daily Plans and the Abeka Flash-a-Card visualized lessons: Life of Christ Series 1–5. Your child's textbook is his Bible. Category Description for Abeka Elementary Middle Years (7-8)

New to the Abeka Bible series? No worries! Grades 7 and 8 are a great place to pick up this spiral approach to the Abeka Bible program. In these middle years, students review and build onto Old and New Testament knowledge. This program is easy to pick-up for your students wherever you find yourself in your Biblical studies. Lessons typically take 30 minutes, 4-days a week, and the Curriculum Daily Plan provides weekly and daily outlined schedules. These plans incorporate suggested hymns to sing, memory verses to study, and outline which lessons you are going to teach. While not scripted, the instruction is very thorough and will be an added benefit to structure your time while studying the Bible. These middle grades still utilize the Flash-a-Card images as the basis of instruction. On one side are large graphics for students to study while you, as teacher, read the lesson and information provided on the back of the cards. These are great visual aids for learning. If you are an Abeka Bible veteran, chances are you have the Flash-a-Cards needed for 7th and 8th grade. The additional cards you would need are Abraham Through Joseph (grade 7) and John the Baptist/Peter (grade 8). Check out our Flash-a-Card Cycle Chart to see the usage of content.

In Grade 7, as students are learning more about the Exodus story, they will review information about the Tabernacle and the Moses journey (these lessons are also used in Flash-a-Card Grade 5 Abeka Bible). Then you will learn more about the history and people of Israel, from Abraham through Joseph. In Grade 8, the study of Joshua and Judges (OT) is covered again with the addition of the book of Acts (NT).

Each semester units have midterms and final exams, plus additional quizzes. All this material is located in the Student Quiz and Test Book. The test booklet provides your tests, memory verse exams, review worksheets, test schedules, and grading rubric. The Quiz and Test Key provides all the answers to the unit's quizzes, test, and exams.

In the Abeka Bible middle years, students move to the Sing His Praise Hymnal. This spiral- bound hymnal is a collection of traditional hymns to incorporate in your daily studies and worship. Outlined in the curriculum lesson plans are the suggested songs from this hymnal. The Sing His Praise Hymnal will be used from 7-12 grade. ~Rebecca
