Very nice and very helpful for those who are audio learners
My son has difficulty with reading comprehension. The audio CD's are just what he needs to help him absorb the material. The audio is very well done.

Wonderfully written story, a bit too soothing voice
We listen to dozens of audio books a year. I was excited to add this to our library. I do love the material and find it to be well written. My only complaint would be, her voice is very soothing and does tend to relax our kids instead of drawing them in and catching their attention. Perhaps a different voice and I would give this 5 stars. The material is excellent. But it isn't our favorite to listen to. I'm forcing the kids to sit regardless, since we spent $40 on the set!

This is my all time favorite World History 1 course From the beginning of my homeschooling career I searched for the "perfect" history course that integrated Biblical history with the general world history that should be covered in a history course In my opinion no one does this better than Linda Hobar Well written with plenty of "extras" for adding to the daily lessons this course will help you put HIStory together in the most Biblical way All learning styles and multiple ages will benefit from this course if you take advantage to tailor it specifically for your child(ren) Teacher prep can be what you make of it You can really take this course to a higher level with lots of planning or you can slim it down to fit your learning needs With extra planning this can be used for middle and high school grades as well Great value for the money I recommend this course for everyone!

My son still has a few reading issues and while I LOVE to read from the Mystery of History, this will save us some time. It also helps for our son to be seeing the words while hearing them as well.

The audio cd's are a simple and efficient way to expose my children to history from a Christian perspective which they have enjoyed.

Making my life a less busy during the day the audio CD set for volume 1 of Mystery of History fits the bill. I can pop it in and the kids can listen to the day's lesson either while working on the corresponding activity or just enjoying listening to the lesson. Rainbow Resource had the set much cheaper then any where else (who doesn't love saving a few extra bucks).
Heather Y on Oct 10, 2016
Audio seems like a great way to further solidify information for children who don't always learn their best using the traditional seat work approach. Maybe hearing the narration as she is reading along will help it sink in a bit better than reading alone.
Andrew S on Sep 1, 2016
Hoping to listen to this while driving or doing something else so we're not always reading. We need the balance of activity!

I love the way this series is set up, teaching about things going on at the same time in different parts of the world. The Christian perspective was important as well.

I wanted a history curriculum that was Bible centered and God centered. I wanted to be able to create timelines and give my kids a good frame of reference as to how God has been working all throughout the times in history.

I wanted a history curriculum that truly focuses on God's word. The other main one SOTW, just doesn't include enough Bible, it's like it's sprinkled in. This one truly incorporates it in the learning process. Plus, you can do history when your driving on the road, the kids just hear it - and get it. A+ program!

is this unabridged? Do I need the book as well or can we just listen to the cds?
A shopper on Jan 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: THe Audio CD for Mystery of History is word for word the author reading the lesson from the text. But, it does not include the activity suggestions at the end of each lesson, the pre tests, the post tests, or the maps, so if you want to do the complete curriculum and not just listen to the stories, you would need the text.
Can this audio edition be used with the 1st edition textbook?
User on Mar 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't know because I only purchased the audio edition to compliment my own history compilation. Over the years, I have purchased three different history audios: Mystery of History, Diana Waring's What in the World, and Story of the World. I recommend getting all three as each offers a well rounded history that my children have loved.
Can this be used with the first edition textbook?
A shopper on Mar 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I believe it can.
