Spanish 1A CD-ROM
This unique program presents students with fun games, activities, and animation that will teach them Spanish. The phonics-based approach to learning the sounds of the Spanish language allows students to break down words to their sounds and then build on that sound recognition to build words and word recognition. There are concise instructional presentations, drills, and tests – all with visuals and games that make the learning fun. Colorful pictures and animation, along with sound effects and sing-along-songs help students learn the Spanish alphabet, numbers, colors, days of the week, common greetings, conversation, and more. The games challenge students to identify Spanish (or English) words and sounds to earn a silver or gold star on each game (30 different drill games are included). It all leads up to a final “test” where students must use all the basic Spanish words taught in the program and become a super star. The estimated playing time for completing the whole program is 12 hours, but kids will enjoy returning to the games for fun. Teacher aids include an explanation of how to use the CD-ROM, print pages for all the words to the songs, and print pages for all the activities (there are 18 activity print pages). This bilingual phonics approach can teach Spanish and English words to anyone, and it’s a lot of fun! System Requirements: Windows 95/98/ME/XP/NT/2000/2003 Pentium 166 or higher; Macintosh Power PC processor 120 MHz or higher, OSX (native), 32 MB RAM. ~ Rachel
