If your family loves games like we do the varied topics and levels of play offered in the Professor Noggin's series are sure to be winners in your home too We have enjoyed the Birds Insects Geography of the US and History of Canada cards using them mainly to supplement our science and history studies But even our younger children ages 3-6 years old have pulled them out on a family night Dad makes the game "playable" for them by asking silly questions or easier variations of questions on the cards They are so proud to even win a card and mom is happy that they are learning new things The games are played using one die and 30 illustrated cards Players can decide to use the easy or hard questions on the back of the cards (adults or older children can use hard; younger children easy questions too) The players take turns rolling the die which is numbered with a 1 2 or 3 on a side The number rolled determines the question that the card holder asks the player on his right If the player answers correctly from the skill level chosen he keeps the card in his winnings pile If he is incorrect the card goes on the bottom of the deck after the correct answer is given A player may also look at the picture on the front for clues We will sometimes give clues of our own if the topic is new The cards themselves are printed on a very durable cardboard Their attractive pictures make them fun to collect Play continues until all cards are gone from the central pile; the player with the most cards wins Questions come in the form of True and False multiple choice and 1-3 word answers For example in the US Geography set questions include: 1) Which is the biggest state in surface area: Alaska California or Montana? 2) What is the highest mountain found in the US? 3) Maui is the largest of the Hawaiian Islands T or F Answers are easily found on the side of the card Every so often a number will have "Noggin's Choice" written beside it instead of a question This allows a player to choose a card from another player and add it to his/her winnings pile Our entire family enjoys the Professor Noggin's card games Sometimes the simplest of games are best so that everyone can play together The games are easily stored in small boxes making them great to take along in the car or visits to doctors relatives etcWe have found the games to be an affordable fun and painless way to learn While we have yet to make our own cards adding them to our existing games doing so would be simple and provide another way for our children to retell what they know Our only precaution some of the sets contain evolutionary thinking You may choose to use these questions for further discussion or skip them completely

We recently bought Professor Noggin's Civil War game and love it! We need to do vocabulary of geography terms this school year and figured this would be a much more fun way to do it.

We love these games especially the history and geography ones. My husband and 12 year old son like to compete while we are traveling and the games are very portable. I like that the questions have an easy and more difficult section.

This is a prize for my enrichment program's U.S. geography fair. My 5th grade daughter enjoyed the game and indicated it was challenging but fun.
