If you are a homeschooling parent on a budget unsure of whether this game is a legitimate teaching tool and worth the investment--the answer is YES! I spend (too much) time debating over purchases and often things like this stay on my "wish list" I purchased "10 Days in Europe" this fall and we love it My children are 11 12 and 15 (2 girls and a boy respectively) with vastly different learning preferences and they all 3 really like this game Even my husband enjoys it! We have played with all 5 of us it only means one player will not have a nifty stand to put his country tiles on It is very easy to play and does not tie up an entire afternoon As for educational value I cannot sing its praises enough With no effort or drill you automatically recognize the names of European countries and have an idea of their location I would recommend this over any dry memorization techniques While playing you have to really look at the map to arrange your tiles and in so doing you learn without effort It is worth it as an educational tool to take this off the "wish list" and add to the "shopping cart"! I am very glad that I did!

10 Days in Europe is a wonderful combination of pure fun and pure education The rules are easy to understand and one game does not take too long to play The game works well for all ages as long as the player can read Some special cards - airplanes and boats- add some chance and extra fun to this game I have numerous regular and educational games and in my opinion this game scores highest on both educational value and funEach player tries to be the first to arrange his 10 country cards in order so that he is "traveling" from one country to another adjacent country It is a lot of fun and no special knowledge is required The players spend a lot of time studying the European countries on the map board to see if their countries (cards) touch each other or the necessary ocean Studying the board to line up your cards teaches the geographical location of the countries But studying the geography of these countries in order to line up your cards is a lot more fun than studying for a map test My daughter asked to play a second game right away She really liked it Since you are not answering questions or otherwise testing memorized knowledge of facts all players are on an even level regardless of age We bought 10 Days in Africa several years ago and I wonder if Out of the Box (the game company) has improved the rules because 10 Days in Europe is a lot more fun than our older 10 Days in Africa game

After reading great reviews about this game I finally purchased it What a GREAT investment! The rules of the game are simple and easy for all ages (can easily adapt what is expected of a younger child) Even the tiles are color coded with the board so little ones can find some aspect to play and help along! The pieces are sturdy - I just wish the trays were a heavier plastic so they would stay put The board itself is well constructed but you don't use it for anything more than pointing to it on occasion (being careful not to give away your travel plans) The game is worth the purchase and enhances the school day on multiple levels - and it is FUN!!!!

I have a couple of the other "10 Days in..." games and the whole family enjoys them and they help us to learn geography. This one will go with our unit on Europe. Knowing where the countries are helps comprehension when we are reading about people and events in history.
