Description

Help Mayor Tenpenny bring thrills, awe and joy to the town of Fairview! Set up the merry-go-round, construct attractions like the sabertooth show, the kraken whirl and the moon launch with the goal of gaining rewards in each of the five rounds of this game based on how excited your visitors are by your accomplishments.

To begin, each player receives their own property board and places tree markers on the spaces where they are depicted as well as choosing worker and emotion discs in one of four colors. Next, place emotion disks on the starting space for each of the different emotion tracks – thrill, awe and joy.

Gameplay each round consists of the following steps:

  1. Receive income – each player receives $3 plus any income from concession tiles or attractions they have built in their park.
  2. Actions – taking turns, each player places one of their workers in an action space on the main board and immediately takes its associated action. Continue until all workers are used. Possible actions are:
    • Builder – there are six of these spaces around the merry-go-round. Each of these are opportunities to purchase one of five different categories of attractions or a souvenir tile. Using the top card of the chosen space, pay the listed amount on the card plus or minus the modifier amount shown on the aligned carousel ring. Find the matching attraction tile and place on the player’s property following placement rules. Using the card, also advance on the matching emotion track(s) (thrill, awe and/or joy) as applicable. Finally, turn the card face down and place it in front of you.
    • Banker – Take $2 from the bank supply.
    • Arborist – Remove up to two tree markers from your player board. After trees are clear, concessions, souvenirs and attractions may be built on these spaces.
    • Contractor – take one concession tile, place it on your player board and advance on any matching emotion track indicated.
    • Realtor – Pay $3 to take an expansion board and place next to your player board. Put a tree marker on all tree spaces on the new board.
  3. Take player bonuses: Looking at each of the three tracks (thrill, awe and joy), take any earned player bonuses based on their positions on these tracks.
  4. Advertising: Players may choose to spend money to advertise attractions based on the advertising cost shown on the cards. Each card indicates how many Victory Point tokens players collect for the advertisements.
  5. leanup: Take these steps:
    • Refresh concessions: replace face-up concessions remaining with new ones for the next round.
    • Bring back all worker placement tokens.
    • Rotate the carousel – the player who goes first on the next round decides where to rotate the carousel for the next round. Different spaces may add, subtract or keep the cost of attractions equal to their cards.
    • Advance the month marker to start the next round.

Once five rounds are completed, players obtain end of game victory points from the following resources and add to their points collected during the game:

  1. Goals met (three points each), Attraction points on all collected attraction cards.
  2. 5 points each for emotion disks ending above the eighth space on each of the three emotion tracks
  3. All players who have six or seven attractions built collects five points, and eight or more attractions scores ten points.

The player with the most points wins the game! For 1-4 players with 45 to 75-minutes of playtime.
