The Teacher Guide is titled Christian History: Biographies of Faith and it is designed to be used with the books: Life of Washington, Life of Andrew Jackson, Life of Luther, Life of John Knox, and Life of John Newton. The Teacher Guide provides complete lesson schedules (weekly and daily), planner book includes a daily lesson schedule (organized by week), student worksheets, quizzes, tests, and answer keys. This course is intended for 1 year, 1 credit at the junior high or high school level in the area of Christian History, which may be an elective in most states. The lesson schedule provides space for writing due dates and grades for all work, with assignments listed for all five days per week. Students will read the biographies in this order: Washington, Andrew Jackson, Luther, John Knox, and John Newton. Worksheets (each worksheet is one page), front and back are labeled with the corresponding biography pages and chapters and include vocabulary, short answer, and activities. One worksheet is completed with every one or two chapters, which varies by the length of the chapters and of the books. Quizzes focus on vocabulary, short answer questions, and one or two long answer questions. There are 15 quizzes in all, plus four tests, one for each book, with Newton and Knox combined into one test.

For your students who like to read, this could be a good solution as an elective. The Teacher Guide does a very nice job of taking good books and turning them into a curriculum.

Workflow: Students will read the pages in their book and then complete each section of the PLP. They should be encouraged to complete as many of the activities and projects as possible as well. Tests are given at regular intervals with space to record each grade. If used with younger students, they may be given the option of only choosing activities or projects of interest to them and taking open book tests.

Lesson Scheduling: Space is given for assignment dates. There is flexibility in scheduling. For example, the parent may opt for a MW schedule rather than a M, W, F schedule. Each week listed has five days. Adapt the days to your school schedule. As the student completes each assignment, he/she should put an X in the box.
