Love This!
We are using this for our 10 & 11 year-old son and daughter. We enjoy teaching the content, and the kids are challenged enough by it, and they enjoy the lessons.

Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology.
We are loving our study of anatomy and physiology! I love that it talks about our growth in the womb without getting into the specifics of how babies are conceived. With our boys 9 years old, the ins and outs of the reproduction system is more advanced than we are ready to explore. They love learning about how their bodies work and all the inside organs that make them up.

My kids and I have done several of these books now and still impressed! Wow, fun, full of great pictures, lots of activities etc...There is not a lot of teacher prep either (I don't do many of the activities that are listed) the way I do it, that is mostly just read, yet the kids pick up tons of information! We did use the student activity books the first year we found this series and I loved them, very worth the money. You could save them for years to come.

Is there a teacher book and tests to go with this curriculum?
A shopper on Aug 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is the text that you read with your children. (Or you can assign the children to read individually.) There is no need for a teacher book for this curriculum. We read this book together as a family and the children complete the notebooking activities (sold separately) but there are no tests for this curriculum. Also throughout the text, there are questions for the children to orally narrate after each section to check on retention of the material. We love Apologia Exploring Creation Curriculum; this is our third year using it!
This is suggested for grades 1-6. Would it be okay for 7th grade? I have heard it is a bit tougher than the other Young Explorers books. I do not think she is quite ready for General Science.
A shopper on May 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I think it will be fine for 7th grade. There is a lot of information in it, and she'll probably understand it even better in 7th grade actually. I would not do this in the earlier elementary grades, as I think it's too hard for them (but if they are a younger sibling, feel free to have them listen along -- this just wouldn't be their main text).
I have a rising 3rd grader and a rising 6th grader. Is this suggesting they both use this book?
A shopper on Jul 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The book is the same for either. You can use the Junior Notebook for the 3rd grader and the regular notebook for the 6th grader. I am doing it this year with a 6th, 5th, 3rd and Kindergartener. The junior notebooks have coloring pages and less writing. The regular notebooks have vocabulary crosswords and more writing, but they also share some activities that can be done together.
I see the textbook and a notebooking journal. Are there worksheets for students to fill in charts and answer questions? Quizzes or tests?
A shopper on May 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. The notebooking journal has pages for taking notes, completing charts, crossword puzzles, and answering questions. The pages have colorful pictures and are arranged with plenty of room for the student to write. It's a great resource to keep the student notes organized. It also has lots of "mini books" and hands on projects to reinforce concepts. Definitely worth the money.
This book doesn't come with tests or quizzes, but it would be easy to adapt the crossword puzzle or "what do you remember" questions to Jake your own, if you felt that was important.
How long did it take you to cover this material? A full year? One semester? One chapter per week? Thanks!
Catherine W on Sep 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I did a chapter a week, did not finish book. It is an excellent book because it repeats concepts throughout chapters reinforcing what they learn!
