We just finished reading "The Door in the Wall" as a read-aloud and my 7 year old daughter loved it as much as I did It is full of medieval topics such as feudalism the plague (not graphic) England at war the layout of a castle and much more The story of Robin is inspiring and filled with good morals which makes this book a wonderful read If you choose to have your child read this book independently you must take the time to discuss it with them it will enrich any study of the Middle Ages
