Thanks for your interest in Rainbow Resource Center. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with you in educating your children and students.
Our goal is to help you find the right products for each of your students, from preschool through high school, at prices competitive with large internet retailers. Educating our seven children has confirmed our belief that there is not one "right" way to homeschool. Each child is unique, with his or her own personality, abilities and learning style. In addition, each teacher has his or her own preferences and teaching methods. Also, circumstances vary from family to family - time available for instructing each child, one-on-one or group teaching, budget for school materials, etc. In selecting materials for our catalog, we choose items which work for various teaching methods, appeal to different learning styles, and can be used in a variety of situations. We currently offer about 40,000 items from over 1,000 publishers.
With all these great materials, how do you find the ones that will work best for you? We have focused on providing detailed descriptions of our products so that you may make an informed decision. Our independent reviews are based on our own evaluation of the product, are written by our family members and employees of our company, and are not the ad copy from the publisher. Even though our catalog is free for the asking, you will find it to be "an education in itself," containing some of the best information available anywhere on educational products. Similar products are grouped together for easier comparison and evaluation. Our website provides added benefits: color images of our products, images of the item's contents, and a table of contents where appropriate. Search techniques such as selection of grade level, author, publisher, and words in the title or key words can be quite helpful. Also, a drilldown feature by subject and topic enables you to find and compare similar products.
Still have questions? Contact our friendly customer service staff, available by phone (and live chat on our web site as time permits) from 8:30AM to 5:00PM Central time for additional information. If you need in-depth questions answered, our three experienced consultants on staff will do their best to help you select curriculum or advise you about teaching questions - all for no charge.
Once you decide, orders leave our warehouse quickly, since our goal is to have adequate supplies of all our products on hand. If there are backorders, we do not charge any additional shipping charges. And remember, paid orders over $150 shipped to U.S. addresses are always free freight.
Our homeschooling effort has been successful, as our family average is a 97th percentile score on the ACT college entrance exam. We believe ours is just one example of the potential that can be unleashed with a quality homeschooling education. Our hope is that all children will be educated in such a way as to fully utilize their God-given talents and help them make a positive contribution in the vocation of their choosing.
Thank you for considering the educational materials that we offer. We look forward to serving you.
For the Glory of God,
Bob & Linda Schneider and family
P.S. - Family Highlights
2005 was the Year of Weddings, as three of our daughters got married that year. This promises to be the Summer of Babies, as three of our daughters will have a family addition by August. Jessica, having her first in early July, is a Marketing Director for our company, and she evaluates new products, oversees much of our curriculum catalog and Christmas catalog efforts, and supervises our web graphics work. Jessica's husband Steve manages our warehouse, maintains our computer network, and works with our web developers. Megan, due in August with #3, works on catalog administration and product research and descriptions, while her husband Zach keeps us on good terms with our suppliers and customers, coordinates our exhibit efforts, and hits the road with an exhibit crew. This may be Melissa's last year of coming down from Rockford, IL to do catalog page layout and cover design, as she will have her second in late June. Her husband Nate is a mechanical engineer for a supplier to the aerospace industry. Stephanie and her husband Joel are not having a baby this summer, but are already quite busy with the four they have. Joel is a civil engineer working on commercial building projects. Our son Mark finished his third year at Western Illinois University, now majoring in computer science with an English minor. Mark will be heading up his own convention crew this summer and is looking forward to his exhibit trip to WA and OR in June. Janine, 17, enjoys art class and her church youth group. Although she has one more year in high school, she can't wait to join her brother Mark at college. Stephen, 14, is also nearing the end of his high school career and enjoys math, computer programming, archery, computer games, and on-line friends. Janine and Stephen help with product evaluation, catalog production, and travel with exhibit crews. Homeschooling and managing the business take most of Bob and Linda's time. Linda enjoys her karate classes three days a week, while Bob looks for outdoor work to do with his new John Deere tractor. And we look forward to getting together with our growing family in Michigan this summer for our family vacation.
